I helped a small business based in Stellenbosch with their SEO, and content strategy this month of December. I also was very tempted to buy a lot of goods from their online store! You can view Good Eats, and their assortment of dried fruit, and nuts and decide for yourself if you’d like to shop there. A minimum order for free delivery is quite steep (I have been using Komati Foods for years, which has it at R450, I think) but there are some huge savings to be had. It reminded me again how I would like to devote a whole week to putting into a spreadsheet all the places I buy all the food our home consumes, and then create a reminder for me to do a shop. The idea would be: a weekly Woolworths shop, a monthly Pick n Pay shop, a monthly Checkers shop, and a twice annual Komati shop. Then list all the products and rank them by price, loyalty rewards, quality, shippig cost, admin, etc etc – and then it all becomes clear what to buy where. Dates are R29 a kilo currently on Good Eats, but, I don’t want to spend R1,000 for free delivery. Dates are about R35 for 500g at Checkers, and probably worse quality, and the queues are a hassle, yet I get 30% back in eBucks. Multiply this out by the 100+ products we have in our home and it becomes a headache – but the worst headaches are standing in queues for a few basic items when we all know how precious our time is. Anyway, this project may arrive in 2023, but for now I am looking at the finish line of an Xmas holiday – with Good Eats being my last fully complerted (I hope) client work for the year. Some exciting new ones are around the corner, it seems…
